Australian care home trialling smart floor technology

Dementia patients at RSL LifeCare's new residential aged care facility will be monitored safely and discreetly thanks to new smart floor technology.

The SensFloor technology turns the 18 rooms in the dementia wing at Bill Newton VC Gardens into a large touchpad. It can track the the movement of people within their room, show when they enter or leave, send an alarm if they're in the ensuite for too long and most importantly, send out alarms if anyone falls.
